“The God of Small Things”
This story is set in a town of southwest India. The key part happens in 1969, and this time, the social system in India was strongly imbedded, and awareness around the world had increased and communal philosophy, as well. (Ticklell 2007)India is a complicated society that practices various cultural and religious habits. All the religions in India share the same space and society are divided by class perception. The languages spoken in India vary and the high profiled people send their descendants abroad to study thus developing an English speaking habit. The story is set in a Christian populated part.
The action in this story is partly influenced by the settings. This is so because, at the time of setting the class system was strongly imbedded at this same time the awareness and climax of communist around the world had increased.
